In the end of 2010 the Faculty of Engineering launched a logo design competition as a kick off celebration of the 20th Anniversary activities. Faculty staff and students had participated actively, and we have received eighty creative submissions.
Awards
Three awards will be offered for the Competition:
Winner: i-Pod Touch (8GB) and a certificate
1st runner up: a book coupon of HK$1000 and a certificate
2nd runner up: a book coupon of HK$800 and a certificate

| The logo takes inspiration from Prof Charles Kao's achievements in fiber optics. While there is a wide range of research disciplines in the Engineering Faculty, Prof Charles Kao's work, represented by the optical fiber, symbolizes the spirit of the Faculty - to innovate and contribute to society with long-term vision and ever lasting impact. The bold "20" presents clearly the 20th anniversary of the Faculty while the five fibers in the "20" represent each of our Departments. |
