The Faculty commits itself to the professional education of future leaders in engineering and pursuit of excellence in research in modern technology and engages actively in promoting the interest in culture in engineering science and advanced technology in Hong Kong. In celebration of its anniversary this year, the Faculty has worked with the Hong Kong RoboCupJunior Association in hosting the open competition in the region on 4 June 2011. RoboCupJunior is an international robot tournament, and Hong Kong is the 7th year to host the regional event. Over 400 standard teams from primary and secondary schools in Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan have participated in this major robotics competition. Winning team of Cheung Sha Wan Catholic Secondary School, Peanut King, being the Hong Kong delegate to take part in the RoboCupJunior World Final 2011 (5-11 July 2011) in Turkey won the 2nd place in soccer league.
