The Chinese University of Hong Kong and TCL Corporation Ltd (TCL) have entered a new era of collaboration by signing a strategic partnership agreement on 2 August 2017. Both parties are committed to promoting research in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Big Data. The agreement will foster closer engineering collaboration between CUHK and TCL, and those are also the key strategic areas the Faculty of Engineering, CUHK strives for its research excellence. CUHK has been one of the pioneers in the research on AI and deep learning. The CUHK Multimedia Laboratory was named as one of the pioneers in AI research in the GPU Technology Conference 2016. CUHK was the only institution in Asia to receive this recognition, alongside several internationally renowned universities. Moreover, the research teams from Department of Information Engineering, Department of Electronic Engineering, Department of Systems Engineering and Engineering Management, as well as the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at CUHK are committed to developing a wide variety of AI applications. |
