The German Consulate General Hong Kong and the Faculty of Engineering and Institute of Environment, Energy and Sustainability of The Chinese University of Hong Kong are jointly organising an exhibition on Germany’s Energy Transition (“Energiewende” in German) which is a touring exhibition and has already been shown overseas. The exhibition will, for the first time, travel to Hong Kong from 5 November until 22 November and will be available to the public during that time. The importance of energy efficiency has risen over the course of several decades. The energy transition is a decision of the German Federal Government to produce energy on a sustainable basis and make Germany one of the most energy-efficient and environmentally compatible economies in the world. It is a national task and paves the road to an environmentally friendly and economically successful future with a secure, clean and affordable energy supply. The exhibition will be officiated with an Opening Ceremony by the State Secretary of the Federal Foreign Office of Germany and Deputy Foreign Minister, Dr. Markus Ederer, and the Secretary for the Environment of the HKSAR Government, Mr. Wong Kam-sing, GBS, JP on Saturday, 5 November 2016 at 13.00. The ceremony will be followed by a question and answer session. The exhibition will be open to the public (except on Sundays) with free admission. Prior registration is not required. All are welcome. Free admission. Refreshments and drinks will be served. For further information, please visit www.erg.cuhk.edu.hk/erg/node/992
