Student Development and Guidance Service
The Student Development and Guidance Service of the Faculty of Engineering is established to support and facilitate Engineering students in adjusting to the university life and study.
Individual Consultations & Workshops
Our Assistant Student Guidance Managers provide one-on-one consultations for students. Additionally, activities and workshops on various aspects will be organized during the semesters, including:
- Personal Growth and Development
- Interpersonal Relationships and Communications
- Study Skills and Strategies
- Etc.
All Engineering students are welcome to register with the consultation service when it is needed! Any personal information you provide will be handled with strict confidentiality.
- Students will receive an email confirmation via their CUHK email accounts with the details of the first appointment (including date, time, and location of the meeting).
- Arrive on time for the scheduled session(s). Each session lasts approximately 30 - 45 minutes. The Assistant Student Guidance Manager will schedule the next follow-up session with you when needed.

ENPower Buddy Programme 工程小伙伴
Registration Deadline: 23 February 2026 (Students registering after the deadline will be assigned senior / junior buddies only if available.)
Aim
The programme is designed to pair Senior Engineering students with Year 1 students to offer peer guidance, assisting junior students in successfully adjusting to university life.
Nature & Programme Design
Senior Buddies
- All undergraduate / postgraduate students in Year 2 or above are welcome to volunteer as Senior Buddies.
- A Certificate of Appreciation will be awarded to all Senior Buddies at the end of the semester.
- Participation as Senior Buddies will be recorded in the Student Development Portfolio (SDP) of the Office of Student Affairs, CUHK.
Junior Buddies
- All undergraduate / postgraduate Year 1 students who wish to receive peer guidance from senior students are welcome to join as Junior Buddies.
- Year 1 students will then be paired with a Senior Buddy to support their adjustment to university life
- Year 1 students will be invited to join the activities designed and organized by Senior Buddies.
Timeline and Activities in Second Semester, 2025-26

- Senior Buddies are required to attend the briefing night, engage in organizing at least one activity for Junior Buddies, and meet individually with their paired Junior Buddy at least twice during the buddy pairing period.
- Junior Buddies are required to attend the lunchtime meet-up session, participate in at least one activity organized by the Senior Buddies, and meet individually with their paired Senior Buddy at least twice during the buddy pairing period.
- All Senior and Junior Buddies have to attend the Certificate Presentation to show appreciation to senior students and share feedback on the Buddy Programme.
