A team of students has won in the VXCTF 2018, a Capture-the-Flag (CTF) hacking contest hosted by the international hacker conference VXCON in Hong Kong. During the competition, participants were required to exercise different skillsets in Information Security and Computer Science for challenges including web, cryptography, reverse engineering, forensic, binary exploitation and smart contract. A total of eight teams from Hong King universities joined the competition. The winning team "g33z" from CUHK was comprised of three undergraduates: Leung Shing Yuet (MIEG Final Year), Tong Cham Fei (CS Final Year) and Zeng Yihui (Math Final Year). They have been active in joining the CUHK Open Innovation Lab (OIL) which is a self-initiated student group that actively promotes open technology on campus.
