Two members of the Faculty of Engineering have each received an award from the Chinese Association of Automation (CAA) and a Faculty alumna has been awarded a distinction by MIT Technology Review for their remarkable achievements. The Faculty is committed to developing innovative technology to improve peoples’ lives and these awards add to the wide recognition of its excellence in artificial intelligence and robotic research. Mechanical and Automation Engineering’s Team Receives Honours from CAA Dr. Jianping Shi, a distinguished alumna of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering has been selected as one of China's top 35 innovators under age 35 by the world-leading scientific magazine, MIT Technology Review. Dr. Shi joined CUHK through the Hong Kong PhD Fellowship Scheme in 2011, and obtained her PhD degree at the Department of Computer Science and Engineering in 2015 with over 10 research publications. She is the research lead for the Intelligence Vehicle Business Unit of SenseTime Group Limited, with more than 50 researchers working in R&D of autonomous driving systems and ADAS product. |
