Professor Raymond Tong and his teams’ innovations win 6 awards at the Silicon Valley International Inventions Festival 2024

Professor Raymond Tong Kai-Yu from Department of Biomedical Engineering (BME) and his research teams won six awards at the Silicon Valley International Inventions Festival (SVIIF) 2024, including three special prizes, which were Prize of the United Inventors Association of America (UIA), Prize of the China Association of Inventions (CAI) and Prize of the Korea Invention Promotion Association (KIPA), and three Gold Medals.

The three winning inventions were XoMuscle (Bionic Artificial Muscle), Hope4Care (Markerless AR training system), and Intelligent Nighttime Brace with Smart Padding. The awarded projects are examples of success in knowledge transfer, translating research and innovation into tangible benefits and outcomes.

The SVIIF brings together innovators from 40 countries and regions to showcase interesting inventions in the US. The festival is under the patronage of the City of Santa Clara, the International Federation of Inventors’ Associations (IFIA) and the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO). SVIIF was created to publicise state-of-the-art inventions from around the world and provide a unique opportunity for inventors to receive not only high-ranking international awards for their inventions but also to cultivate the American market in the heart of inventions, Silicon Valley.
